in honor of the lovely idiots ohlittlerachel and diaphenia, i give you my misheard lyrics… the ones that i sang incorrectly for at least ten years:

correct lyrics: nobody told me there’d be days like these

mine:

in my defense… it’s John Lennon lyrics. 

REM — It’s the end of the world as we know it (And I feel fine) 

correct lyrics: The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide 
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein!

mine: 

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide 
Blah blah line, LAND EARTH BIRDS FLYING

This was 1990, people and we had to transcribe this song BY HAND from a VINYL ALBUM. IN THE SNOW. UPHILL, BOTH WAYS. And we got most of it right.
