*le sigh* i got mocked about that by a boyfriend several years later — which is the ONLY reason that i found out that it was “Leonard Bernstein.” i am not a musicals girl (unless it’s Annie or Grease/Grease 2) — i had no idea who Leonard Bernstein was. (i’m still not all that familiar, to be honest.) so i had NO CONTEXT that those sounds should make out his name and “land, earth, birds flying” just made SENSE. it still makes sense.
that’s my story and i’m sticking to it.
