Jenna Hamilton is totes Brilliant and Lowbrow ;)
MTV has renewed critical darling Awkward for a third and supersized season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The comedy, created by Lauren Iungerich, will see its third season grow from its current order of 12 to 20 half-hour episodes as MTV continues to bulk up its original scripted programming.
and for the Teen Wolf fans…
Awkward’s supersized renewal order comes mere weeks after MTV renewed hourlong drama Teen Wolf for a third season consisting of 24 episodes — also double its typical order for its first two seasons.
Very very exciting indeed!
ohlittlerachel replied to your post: i truly love this show so much.
i need to watch that. it’s pretty much the only currently airing comedy left i haven’t watched or decided i don’t want to watch.
You really, really do. It’s such a wonderful show — the writing is fantastic and sharp, and all the characters are so real. I find myself rooting for all of them (even if i’m totally Team Jake).
Plus, it’s only 12 eps for the first season so it’s an easy thing to indulge in!

aw man. i miss my show.

On MTV’s Awkward., Desi Lydic steals just about every scene in her role as the well-meaning but rather delusional high school guidance counselor Valerie. In real life, she’s just as funny and charming – and even better, seems to be up for any adventure. (and is so so kind when my cell phone decides that it has a crush on her and keeps calling at random intervals.)
Desi talks to us about some of those adventures – working on Awkward., charm school, buying a zoo with Cameron Crowe, throwing her bra at Chris Evans and what she loves about women in comedy.
Lissa: Abstinence isn’t easy. And neither are you.
