This is my fifteen year old sister, Hannah. She has a cyst on her pineal gland, which is in the middle of her brain. (From what I understand, a cyst is like a tumor but filled with liquid.) We’ve known about it for about two years, and it constantly gives her horrific headaches, that can last weeks. Her vision is getting very bad because of it too, and so is her quality of life, she’s started fainting and had a couple seizures recently. Just last week we had a Skype conference with one of the two neurosurgeons, in the world, who would potentially perform the surgery to remove it. (A lot of people have trouble getting this surgery approved, but because Hannah’s is one of the largest cysts in one of the youngest patients, it was approved.) Praise God. The surgery will take place in June, but only if we can pay the $50,000. We really need help raising this money.

As much as I’m a cynical person, I do try to donate to worthy causes (especially the “smaller” ones). I’ve got a tumor near my brain — nothing this serious — that will eventually need surgery and I’m so grateful for having insurance and a job that pays me enough to cover the out-of-network doctor costs. I hope they can raise enough for this girl so that she can have the surgery and recover in peace without worrying about the financial cost.
It is impossible not to love Yeti. He exudes friendliness and is nothing but smiles, tail wags, and wiggles.
….Except, he hasn’t felt the love his whole 3 years as he should’ve. No, he was confiscated from a cruelty case where he was named “Kilo” by his drug-dealing, abusive loser of an owner.
But you wouldn’t know it, and Yeti does not care. Yeti has so much love and life to give, and he wants to give it to everyone he sees. If only the love was returned–he’s been here two months now.
There is nothing not to love about this snow beast–he is a natural with kiddos of all ages and personalities (from hyper kids to toddlers) and would be the perfect family dog. He is good with other dogs, very playful and exuberant with each one he meets and ignores the annoying little yappers. He is not a resource-guarder despite his love for his toys, either.
He’s also obsessed with chairs. No chairs are safe. Ever. He is going to climb into all chairs, regardless of size or value. It does not matter if the chairs are not even comfortable. Yeti’s going to find a way to crawl into them, and when he does, he will give you this cute satisfied look that will ensure no one has the heart to kick him out. Bonus points if he ends up in your lap.
Yeti is also fully housebroken, pretty easy to walk on leash, and CUTE as can be. I mean, that little face! It’s almost too much for me.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again (and again and again): it’s not in how they’re raised. A dog’s past does not dictate its future. I believe in Yeti. I have faith he will get the home he deserves and live a happy life (it would still help if you shared him, though *nudge nudge*).

This is Lilac. Lilac was adopted from BARCS a year ago and was brought back yesterday because of the pit bull ruling. Lilac loves the chihuahua and cats she lived with and she is this little boys best friend. Through hysterical tears, Lilac’s owner said the little boys lights up when he sees Lilac and they never leave each other. When we took the dog back the little boy was holding his arms out, crying and confused where his dog was going, and the owners were equally devastated. This poor little boy lost his best friend yesterday that he could have grown up with, everyone loses with this ruling. We are trying to work with the landlord through DNA testing and have provided legal resources to the owners. The landlord gave the owners 72 hours or be evicted and understandably, with a baby, they were scared of being homeless. Please network Lilac in case we can’t get further with the landlord!

This family dog did nothing except be born a pit bull, and now because of a new Baltimore ruling, pit bulls are now illegal. Their options were: be evicted within 72 hours, or give up their dog. Please boost the signal.

Cops search for girl, 12, missing for several days from South Side
Police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who went missing five days ago from her South Side home in the city’s Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood.
Brianna Marshall was last seen Monday leaving her home on the 6700 block of South Cregier Avenue, police said.
Her family is extremely concerned as this is the first time she has went missing. Brianna frequents the area of 41st Street and King Drive, police said.
Brianna was last seen wearing a black and white skirt, a white short sleeved blouse over a black tank top and black sandals. She was carrying a brown shoulder bag and was wearing her hair in a pinned-up style, police said.
Police described Brianna as a black girl with a medium complexion, dark brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the police at 312-747-8385.

hi so i don’t play any of the mass effects but my momma does.
unfortunately none of her friends are gamers. hitherto, she has avoided online gaming but in the case of mass effect 3 she needs to do it to raise her EMS (??? idk what that is but i hope i got the terminology right) so she can get a particular trophy/ending that she wants real bad.
do any casual, non-douche gamers wanna do some co-op missions w/ my mom? today she came to me and was like “i don’t know if you know this, but the people who game online are really mean :(” and it just about broke my heart.
she goes out of her way to revive people on her team but they just make fun of her and leave her for dead when she gets killed. which most ppl won’t be surprised by (gamer dudebros are assholes? did you also know WATER IS WET?) but this entire culture is totally alien to my poor mother and all she wants to not be harassed and stressed out while playing a game that’s supposed to be her chill-out time after a long and stressful work day.
i don’t rly have the money or the time rn to buy the game all over again for pc and play it myself but i totally will if need be just figured i’d ask if there are any preexisting mass effect 3 players out there who would be willing to not be humongous douchebags to my momma in co-op.
